Breaking: Colts Finalizing Deal with Daniel Jones
NFL Free Agency 2026: Colts Near Deal with Daniel Jones, Ravens Sign Trey Hendrickson in Major Moves
The 2026 National Football League (NFL) free agency period is already producing major headlines, with teams across the league making aggressive moves to strengthen their rosters for the upcoming season. Two of the biggest developments so far involve the Indianapolis Colts finalizing a deal with quarterback Daniel Jones and the Baltimore Ravens securing star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson.
Colts Closing in on Daniel Jones
The Colts are reportedly finalizing an agreement with former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, signaling a significant shift in the team’s offensive strategy. Indianapolis has been searching for stability at the quarterback position, and Jones could provide both experience and mobility.
Jones, who entered the league as the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, has shown flashes of strong play during his career. Known for his dual-threat ability, he can extend plays with his legs while also delivering accurate passes when protected by the offensive line.
For the Colts, adding Jones could reshape their offense heading into the 2026 season. The team hopes his athleticism and leadership can help them compete in the highly competitive AFC.

Ravens Strengthen Defense with Trey Hendrickson
Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens have bolstered their defense by signing veteran pass rusher Trey Hendrickson. The move gives the Ravens another elite edge presence as they aim to maintain one of the league’s most aggressive defensive units.
Hendrickson previously built a reputation as one of the most consistent sack producers in the league during his time with the Cincinnati Bengals. His relentless pressure on opposing quarterbacks has made him one of the most valuable defensive free agents available this offseason.
By adding Hendrickson, the Ravens are reinforcing their defensive front and giving their pass rush a major boost heading into the new campaign.
A Busy Start to NFL Free Agency
These moves highlight the fast-paced nature of NFL free agency, where teams move quickly to secure top talent before rivals can make competing offers. With several big-name players still available and more deals expected in the coming days, the offseason is shaping up to be one of the most active in recent years.
For fans of the Colts and Ravens, these acquisitions signal clear intentions: both teams are making bold moves in an effort to contend in the upcoming NFL season.
As free agency continues, more roster shakeups and blockbuster signings are expected across the league, making this one of the most exciting periods on the NFL calendar.
