President, Prime Minister pay tribute at Shaheed Minar on the first hour of Ekushey
The heads of state and government paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the rights of language by laying flowers at the Central Shaheed Minar on the first hour of Ekushey.
President Md. Shahabuddin paid tribute to the language martyrs by laying flowers at the Central Shaheed Minar on Friday at exactly 12 midnight. Then Prime Minister Tarique Rahman laid a wreath at 12:08.
This is the first time since winning the 13th parliamentary election to govern the country, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman paid tribute to the Shaheed Minar on the first hour of Ekushey. He came to the Shaheed Minar with his wife Zubaida Rahman and daughter Zaima Rahman.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan, Ekushey Celebration Committee Chief Coordinator Professor Morshed Hasan Khan, Ekushey Celebration Committee Convener Professor Siddiqur Rahman Khan and Member Secretary Saifuddin Ahmed welcomed the President and the Prime Minister at the Shaheed Minar.
