Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has appeared to testify in the investigation into the crimes of the late, notorious US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. On Thursday, local time, she appeared before the House of Representatives committee investigating Epstein's crimes.

However, an extremely dramatic situation arose regarding this. After the leak of photos of Hillary participating in the closed-door testimony, the testimony was stopped for some time. It later resumed.

Hillary recently agreed to testify before the House Oversight Committee of the House of Representatives along with her husband, former US President Bill Clinton. In light of this, Hillary appeared before the committee on Thursday. Bill Clinton is scheduled to testify on Friday, local time.

The Clintons had previously refused to appear before the committee, calling the demand to testify "politically motivated." However, their agreement to testify has reduced the possibility of disciplinary action against them for contempt of Congress.

Meanwhile, conservative YouTuber Benny Johnson posted a photo of Hillary participating in the closed-door testimony on social media. He wrote in the caption, "Hillary looks upset." He added that this photo was sent to him by Republican Congressman Lauren Boebert.

There was a huge uproar over this. Because the testimony was closed-door. However, it was allowed to be recorded and released later. Hillary expressed anger at the news of the leaked photo. The testimony was stopped. Later, it was reported that it had resumed.

Lauren Boebert admitted to sending the photo to Benny Johnson in a text message to the BBC. She said the photo was taken before the testimony began.

Details of what Clinton told US lawmakers during Thursday's testimony are still unknown.

However, according to the BBC report, Clinton described the Republican-controlled House of Representatives committee as "partisan political theater." The former secretary of state said the committee should ask President Trump to testify.

In an earlier interview, Hillary said she did not recall meeting or speaking with Jeffrey Epstein. Her husband, Bill Clinton, knew Epstein. However, she denied any wrongdoing or any knowledge of Epstein's crimes.

Hillary added, "We have nothing to hide. We have repeatedly requested full disclosure of the documents related to this. We believe that transparency is the most effective way to prevent crime."
